An Open Door, No Longer on Kindle Vella

Maya Jennings is desperate. Impoverished and underemployed after a world-changing event, Maya scrapes by on a meager government check and an unyielding optimism. But jobs are scarce, food scarcer, and in a few months’ time, her checks will disappear.

When a position opens up at an elite wealth management company, Maya is thrilled, hoping a stable job in an unstable economy will keep her head above water. But getting a foot in the door is just the beginning, and Maya has three months to prove she can handle the Special Case Division.

The division’s clientele, and their unusual assets, range from bizarre to otherworldly. Appeasing outlandish requests that defy logic and, at times, the laws of physics, is no easy task, but one negative review means Maya is out of a job.

And she really needs this job.

I’ve removed this story from its Kindle Vella platform and may finish and publish it down the road. It’s been an interesting journey, exploring the Kindle Vella platform. You can check out my review on Kindle Vella for more details.
