Olawu is Making Her Debut

It’s happening. After many long hours of drafting and editing, betas, more editing, an outside editor and more editing, Olawu is finally ready to see the light. I started writing this story in 2020. Like so many others, I found myself drowning in conflicts and new challenges. With a pandemic raging and everyone home, Olawu’s story gave me a much needed outlet. I’m excited to share her story with the world.

What is the story about?

I’ve dubbed it an East African Jane Eyre, though it’s so much more. This story is meant to encourage women, and the people who love them, immersed in a time and place that aren’t well known. Inspired by the cultures of precolonial East Africa, the story follows Olawu, a young woman determined to become a physician despite the patriarchal rules of her village.

When will Olawu be ready?

The first digital and paperback copies will be available July 1st across platforms. Preorders are available now for Amazon Kindle and other digital platforms. I’ll be updating my progress on social media, as well as the Official Olawu webpage. I hope you’ll join me for the journey.
